Lorne pierce, MA, R. psych. (CHCPBC No. 1646)

Lorne Pierce has over 20 years' experience in the helping professions in both government and non-government organizations. He has been in private practice since 1999 and he has been Registered with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia since 2005. Lorne completed Forensic Psychological Risk Assessments for Violence and Sexual Violence and has been called upon as an Expert Witness for the BC Supreme Court. He also facilitated the Nationally Accredited Violence Prevention Program, including modules in Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, and Assertiveness Training. Lorne completed his internship training at Child and Youth Mental Health and he worked with children and families both as a Social Worker and Child Therapist. Lorne utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Humanistic/Existential models, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Family Systems approaches.

BILLING


The rate for Psychological Services is $220 per hour.

Clients who have Extended Health Benefits can often be reimbursed for Psychological Services, depending on the plan. Some insurers require a Medical Doctor's referral for reimbursement. There are often annual deductibles, limits, and proportional rates (e.g., 80% coverage). Clients should check with their provider regarding their specific coverage, since each plan is different. Cedar Ridge Counselling can direct bill the following insurance companies and/or plans/programs (individual plans may vary regarding direct billing availability):

Payment for services can be made by Credit Card (Mastercard & Visa), Cash, Cheque, or e-transfer. Receipts will be provided for insurance claims and/or income tax (Psychological Services are considered a Medical Service).
